How to read these
Contractor portfolios usually show finished photographs and nothing else, which tells you what a space looks like and nothing about whether the job went well. Each project on this page carries square footage, weeks on site, and an approximate contract value — because those are the three things you actually need in order to judge whether a contractor can do your job.
| What we publish | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Square footage | Whether the contractor works at your scale. A crew that is good at 500 square feet is not automatically good at 4,000, and the reverse is just as true. |
| Weeks on site | Construction duration only — not permit review, which runs on the municipality's clock. Compare it against the 8 to 16 week band a mid-size build-out usually falls in. |
| Approximate value | A rounded contract value so you can sanity-check the per-square-foot number against your own space instead of against a range you found online. |
| Photographs taken on site | Our own photos of our own work — no stock imagery and no renderings presented as finished projects. |
If a project on this page is close to what you are planning, say so when you contact us and we will scope yours against it rather than starting from a blank page.
Range of work
The projects photographed on this page are recent ones. Behind them sits eight years of commercial construction and more than a hundred build-outs and renovations delivered by our team — including some of the most heavily regulated interiors in the business.
| Sector | What that work looks like | Where it gets difficult |
|---|---|---|
| Restaurants and food service | Quick-service and fast-casual, full-service, cafes and dessert concepts, bubble tea, bakery production kitchens and commissary space. | Exhaust, make-up air, grease interceptor sizing and a health inspection that gates your opening date. |
| Retail and showrooms | Storefront build-outs, showroom fit-outs, plaza and mall units. | Storefront and signage lead times, and landlord fit-out criteria that review the drawings before the city does. |
| Office and professional space | Tenant improvements, professional suites, meeting-room and reception build-outs. | Acoustics, HVAC zoning and barrier-free compliance — the three things people notice after they move in. |
| Clean and controlled environments | Cleanrooms, packaging suites and regulated interiors delivered validation-ready. | Finish specification, pressure regimes and documentation — where an ordinary commercial GC runs out of experience. |
| Plaza and landlord work | Unit turnovers between tenants, landlord's work, and interior conversions. | What the outgoing tenant left behind, and what the lease said they were supposed to remove. |
| Operating-business work | Kitchens and service areas built into businesses that stay open throughout. | Phasing, dust and noise control, and after-hours windows that protect trade while the work happens. |

Where we build
The projects on this page sit in Toronto, Vaughan, Mississauga, Etobicoke, Richmond Hill and Brampton. Our office is in Richmond Hill, which is why site walks across York Region happen the same week you call and why deficiency work after handover does not wait for a free slot.
The construction does not change from city to city. The approvals do — York Region and Peel handle food premises approvals at the regional level while Toronto runs its own public health department, and every municipality has its own sign permit queue. Each city page below covers the local set.

Every review from a GTA operator we built for
“BuildUp handled the full build-out of our restaurant and I honestly couldn't have asked for a smoother process. Lev understood from day one how important it was to open on schedule, and he kept everything moving — permits, inspections, the kitchen, the dining area — without me having to chase anyone.”
